
SOGES has been awarded the TBT project “Enhance trade capacities of Pacific Agribusiness and improve access to international markets”, funded through the ACP-EU TBT programme. The project will be implemented in the Pacific Region with a special focus on Fiji and Tonga; the project beneficiary is PIPSO – Pacific Island Private Sector Organisation based in Fiji, that works with regional organisations to strengthen the capacity of its members.
In the framework of this project, SOGES will aim at building the capacity of PIPSO and selected service providers in the field of Export Quality Management Systems and promote the adoption of international standards among export ready regional agribusinesses:
- 15-20 trainers, consultants and service providers active in the region are trained in the field of certification for agro-food products (HACCP, Global GAP, ISO 22000).
- 30 selected companies’ Quality Managers are trained on certification and 15 companies are accompanied in the certification process.
- the project will be represented at the CTA annual agro-business forum where activities and results will be presented
SOGES will take care of the organisation of:
- the missions of the team to Fiji and Tonga
- the training activities addressed to service providers and companies Quality Managers
- a sensitisation seminar where SMEs and stakeholders will be invited
- a final seminar for the presentation of project results (50 participants)
along with the design and preparation of all the visibility material necessary throughout the project.
Certification experts in HACCP, Global Gap and ISO 22000 combining experience in food quality and marketing, with a deep customer-oriented approach, will be involved in the project carrying out missions to Fiji and Tonga.
