
On 20th October 2015, the European Commission approved Adrion, one of the programs of the European Territorial Cooperation 2014-2020 for which SOGES European Projects has provided technical assistance to the Managing Authority (Emilia Romagna) for the process of defining and writing program and subsequent application to the European Commission.
Adrion (acronym of Adriatic-Ionian) involves four EU Member States (Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Greece) and 4 IPA countries (Albania, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina). It is co-financed by the European Union with the European Regional Development Fund-ERDF, and has a financial availability of 83.467 million euro, plus 15.7 millions of IPA funds (Instrument for Pre-Accession countries).

For Italy, twelve regions can participate (Lombardy, Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Emilia-Romagna, Umbria, Marche, Abruzzo, Molise, Puglia, Basilicata, Calabria, Sicily and the two autonomous provinces of Trento and Bolzano).
Adrion aims to support the European Strategy for the Adriatic-Ionian region (EUSAIR) through four thematic objectives (art. 9 Regulation EU 1303/2013):
- innovative and intelligent region
- sustainable region
- connected region
- better governance for Eusair
These objectives are closely related to the four pillars of Eusair: Blue Growth, Environmental Quality, Region connected, sustainable tourism.
These objectives will be implemented through projects involving regions of at least three Member States. Public authorities (or equivalent) and private entities can participate in tenders. The launch of the program is scheduled in Bologna on 9th and 10th December 2015.
