Sunday June 12th, 2016 the Alaska Stress Challenge team has reached 6,190 meters high in the top of Mount Denali, the highest mountain in North America and one of the Seven Summits (the highest mountains on each of the seven continents) of the planet.
The first part of the mission has been completed successfully : the peak was reached on Sunday, and at midnight the team has fallen back to camp 5. Tuesday night, the four have returned to base camp.
Climatic difficulties and the 50 kg of equipment and food that everyone had to lug did not prevent Pietro Trabucchi, Gabriela Monti, Claudio Bastrentaz and Franco Moro to achieve the goal and bring to a conclusion the first part of their stress tests and studies. In July, it will begin the second part of the scientific tests, which will be to reproduce in the laboratory the environmental conditions of stress measured during the ascension.
The team, which is currently in Anchorage, will return to Italy in the next few days; we look forward to hear the story of this fantastic adventure!
